HCAOA Leadership Conference
This week, hundreds of home care owners and thought leaders in the home care industry are meeting in Austin, TX for the Home Care Association of America Annual Leadership Conference. With the theme this year being, Our Home Care Landscape: Big Challenges, Bigger Opportunities, general sessions and breakout sessions include topics on sales and marketing, operations, technology, and best practices in home care.
Sheila McMackin Leadership Award
In addition to hearing from various authorities of in-home care, the HCAOA takes this opportunity to recognize individuals who have made an impact in the industry. One of those recognitions is the Sheila McMackin Leadership Award, which was received today by Aaron Marcum, CEO and Founder of Home Care Pulse. Specifically mentioned in his recognition was his contribution to the industry through the publication of the annual Home Care Benchmarking Study, which had its 8th edition published earlier this year and the impact the Home Care Pulse Satisfaction Management Program has had on millions of lives across North America. The award is named after the founder and first Board President of the Home Care Association of America, Sheila McMackin, and is given to someone selected by the current HCAOA board for their exceptional leadership in the industry.

Home Care Benchmarking Study
The Home Care Benchmarking Study is the largest and most in-depth study available in the home care industry. It’s a compilation of information gathered through satisfaction services provided by Home Care Pulse to home care agencies, and surveys participated in by hundreds of home care owners/managers. The data collected from thousands of client and caregiver interviews, and the survey results, is broken down into national and regional data for home care owners to use in comparison to their own standings.
While Aaron Marcum is the person who was given the award, he credits thousands of home care providers who utilize the Home Care Pulse Satisfaction Management program along with the entire team at Home Care Pulse in their efforts in improving the quality of in-home care through their diligent work involved in satisfaction management services, Best of Home Care awards, and production of the Benchmarking Study.
