[HCAOA] membership is the best investment you can make in your agency’s future during these times.” In the political world, it could be hard for an individual to be heard, but through the united front of the HCAOA, lawmakers take notice and are educated on the import issues facing the private duty home care industry.

HCAOA members are held to the highest standards of home care and are expected to uphold the core values of “compassion, reliability, competency, respect, continuity, integrity and honesty,” while also abiding by all state and federal laws and regulations. The HCAOA wants to see its members succeed in business. Members have access to tools and educational resources, like webinars, conferences and newsletters, and are able to use the HCAOA logo as a marketing tool. The association also helps to make members aware of the various resources available within the private duty industry and encourages members to utilize these resources to assist them with their home care business.

The HCAOA works with us, at Home Care Pulse, each year to conduct and publish the annual Private Duty Benchmarking Study and many HCAOA members participate in the study. Phil Bongiorno, Executive Director of HCAOA, in his article in the “2014 Private Duty Benchmarking Study,” explains, “Our participation in this benchmarking study is just one of the many ways the HCAOA and its members are advancing the industry that cares for people in their homes.” Each year, the association and its members are a vital part of the success of the study, which provides valuable insights into the private duty industry.

The HCAOA is an association created for private duty home care providers who are determined to succeed in business and provide superior in-home care for seniors. Bongiorno sums it up by saying, “Our mission and guiding principles will help our member companies become more competitive and provide patient-centered care and a variety of lifestyle options to seniors who wish to age in the comfort of their own homes.”
