Activities for Individuals Living with Alzheimer’s Disease
This course reinforces that appropriate activity positively impacts the behaviors associated with Alzheimer’s disease. Your caregivers will learn about the benefits of physical, mental, and sensory activities. The course also covers how to overcome obstacles preventing AD clients from being active by focusing on the five senses, the importance of social activity, and the power of music when working with individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease.
- List at least two benefits of physical activity, mental activity, and sensory activity.
- Discuss why people living with AD may resist activities and what you can do to help.
- Describe how ADLs are beneficial activities that can become part of your client’s routine.
- Suggest activities for every client living with AD, regardless of stage or health status.
- Help your clients living with AD participate in stage-appropriate activities every day.
