Client Safety Tips

Throughout this course, you will learn client safety tips that can be used by the care professional in a home or facility setting. This course includes how to recognize fall risks and keep patients safer when they are using assistive equipment, as well as how to protect clients from healthcare-associated infections and pressure injuries. You will also learn how to help your clients with all of their activities of daily living, from eating to toileting to transportation, and what to do in the event of an emergency or disaster.

  • Discuss at least three types of illnesses or injuries clients may suffer while under the care of medical professionals.
  • Demonstrate ability to recognize and report faulty equipment.
  • List at least two things you can do to prevent client falls, infections, and pressure sores during routine care.
  • Discuss ways to keep clients safe during mealtimes and while traveling.
  • Demonstrate preparedness to keep clients safe during emergencies such as adverse weather or fire.
