Understanding Home Health: Order Writing Part 2

This course completes the first portion of the dual order writing course suite, to assist home health clinicians in how to effectively write patient orders. Unique patient scenarios are provided, including proper orders following a new evaluation, accommodation of appropriate PRN visits, and missed visit omissions. Clinicians will complete their learning of how to balance visit frequencies versus treatments, resume care following hospitalizations, maintain proper home health aide care plans, and ultimately discharge patients correctly.

Describe the frequency of visitations as they relate to the frequency of services and treatments for proper scheduling, including how to accommodate PRN and missed visitations.
Explain how specific types of order are updated in a patient’s plan of care, including new evaluations, resumptions of cares, for standard protocols, and for medication profile updating.
Identify the personal care activities that are part of a home health aide care plan.
Discuss how all unskilled and skilled home health orders are ended upon discharge.
