Position Summary

We are looking for a full-time content writer and social media manager to create engaging content on our websites and social media pages, write and edit articles for our annual industry publication, administer our social media accounts, and handle social media advertising initiatives. You will be responsible for creating original text and video content, writing blog content, creating and managing a quarterly content and social media calendar, and creation of all social media posts and responding to followers. This position will also require familiarity with Facebook advertising and management, as well as engagement with prospective customers on LinkedIn.

As a social media specialist, you should be up to date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends. You should have excellent communication skills and be able to express our company’s views in a creative manner and in our brand voice.

Position Requirements

  • Copywriting background (has had experience writing blog content and social posts)

  • Superb spelling and grammar skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Knowledge of social media management tools (HubSpot, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Buffer, etc) preferred

  • Experience managing social media accounts for mid-size to larger organizations

  • Experience with WordPress content management

  • Experience writing and optimizing web pages (title/meta description/keyword optimization)

  • Basic SEO knowledge

  • Implement social media strategy to help align with business goals

  • Ability to manage and create quarterly social media and blog promotion calendar

  • Generate, edit, publish, and share engaging content daily (e.g. original text, photos, videos, and news)

  • Ability to collaborate with marketing, sales, and customer service to ensure everything stays on brand

  • Is a self-starter and able to take initiative on all projects

  • Experience with community management

  • Communicate with followers and respond to queries in a timely fashion

  • Results-oriented with the ability to take feedback and revise copy

  • Create simple branded social media graphics using a tool, such as Canva, Illustrator, and Photoshop

  • Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness such as promotions and other initiatives

  • Comfortable with setting up and managing Facebook Ads

  • Working knowledge of social media metrics and Google analytics
