Home Care Office Staff Hiring Tips

Home Care Pulse, the home care industry’s leading satisfaction research firm, has announced the winners of the 2019 Best of Home Care Awards. These awards, including the Best of Home Care – Provider of Choice, Best of Home Care – Employer of Choice, and Best of Home Care – Leader in Excellence, are the most prestigious awards in the home care industry and recognize home care agencies that have consistently achieved exceptional client and caregiver satisfaction scores.

In a webinar on January 23rd, Erik Madsen, CEO of Home Care Pulse, announced the winners, shared facts and statistics about this year’s winners, and interviewed two Leader in Excellence award winners. These winners, Tom Genetti (independent agency owner in Wisconsin), and Michelle Lisk (SYNERGY owner in Pennsylvania), discussed the steps they took to qualify for their awards, including creating recognition programs for their caregivers, providing highly competitive wages and benefits, and listening closely to client/caregiver feedback provided by Home Care Pulse in order to maintain a very high standard of care.

“It’s thrilling to see the efforts that agencies across the country are making to provide outstanding care and employment,” Madsen said. “These agencies have worked extremely hard to qualify to provide high-quality care and employment, and these awards allow them to provide proof of their quality to potential new clients and caregivers.”

More agencies qualified for Best of Home Care awards this year than ever before, a sign that a higher standard of care is being provided throughout the industry. Award winners this year included 794 Providers of Choice, 508 Employers of Choice, and 180 Leaders in Excellence. First-time winners this year included 107 Providers of Choice, 50 Employers of Choice, and 85 Leaders in Excellence.

There is also a small but growing elite group who have qualified for Leader in Excellence for five years or more. According to the awards webinar, four agencies won Leader in Excellence for their fifth year in a row, five agencies won Leader in Excellence for the sixth year in a row, and four agencies won Leader in Excellence for a record-breaking seven years in a row.

7-time award winners include Comfort Keepers of Haddonfield New Jersey, and the Visiting Angels locations in South Elgin, Illinois; Sterling Heights, Michigan; and Auburn, New Hampshire.
