The Opportunity

Our company’s growth has always been built on inbound content marketing. We made the decision to pursue an inbound strategy when nobody else in our industry was doing so, and we’ve worked to be content leaders ever since.

Now we’re growing faster than ever, and we need someone to help ensure that as we scale the content we’re producing, it stays as good as ever. (Even better than ever, hopefully.) In coming months we’re launching major brand changes, moving into new verticals, and launching some huge content initiatives; the Managing Editor will be key to this success.

Responsibilities

  • Manage our content marketing team

  • Manage the editing and revision process for our content

  • Lead the execution of our content marketing strategy

  • Coach team members and other departments in writing skill development

  • Be willing to help create content alongside the team where needed

Necessary Qualifications

  • Very strong writing skills, with a particular ear for brand voice

  • Excellent judgment in how to make content interesting to people

  • A very high level of attention to detail

  • Technical expertise in the mechanics of writing

  • The ability/willingness to teach and coach in addition to writing, editing, and proofreading

  • Leadership skills–particularly empathy, emotional intelligence, and strong communication skills

  • Some expertise in both content writing and copywriting

  • Either home care industry experience or the ability to rapidly learn the nuances of the industry
