Previous to Kurtyka Group, Brandi held various executive level roles in VC-backed start-ups and led digital global marketing for the world’s largest marketing research agency. You’ll often hear Brandi saying “recruiting is selling” too many times in a single sentence – she’s on mission to arm healthcare recruiters with more insight about care professional motivations to fuel the hiring and retention of a workforce plagued with high turnover.

Since 2004, Scott Osborne and his team have initiated and facilitated more than 50 acquisitions of home care firms totaling more than $75 million in value. Osborne HomeCare Group has a 90%+ acquisition rate of firms it brings to market with an average of three offers per project. This multiple offer process has enabled Scott and his team to attract full market value deals in most cases while providing their clients with multiple choices for a new owner.

Scott heads up the firm’s Confidential Sale Projects which involve preparing for the sale, thoroughly screening prospective buyers, courting qualified ones through a transparent evaluation process, connecting them to lending sources and facilitating the offer process. Once under contract, Scott’s project managers develop and implement the Deal Execution Schedule sponsoring weekly conference calls among buyers and sellers and staying heavily involved until closing.

Scott founded the firm in 2001 after a 14-year management career with Pepsico’s North American beverage division during which he learned the mergers & acquisitions business and invested is several small businesses. Originally, Scott’s firm specialized in acquisition searches for owner-operators and private equity groups but evolved into specializing exclusively in the home care industry.

Scott’s national practice consists primarily of taking to market in-home senior care firms and secondarily of acquisition search and valuation work. He has been a frequent speaker at home care association events, national webinars, industry workshops and franchise conventions on the topic of how home care owners can optimize their exit payday.

Scott holds an undergraduate degree in Public Relations from the University of Central Missouri and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He grew up in an Air Force family living in North Carolina, Kansas, Alabama, Nebraska, and Missouri. Today he resides in St. Louis, Missouri with his wife Angie and their three children.

Merrily Orsini is an expert marketing strategist, multiple award-winning business leader, community activist and serial entrepreneur based in Louisville, Kentucky. She was a pioneer in the home care industry, creating a geriatric care managed model for non-medical long term in-home care in 1981. After selling that business in 1996, Orsini followed her passion for communications and design and started building corecubed.

Orsini was inducted into the Entrepreneur of the Year Institute after receiving the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur-of-the-Year award for Kentucky and Indiana in 1996. Recent accolades include her role in corecubed’s nomination for a Webby Award in 2011, and selection for a Silver Award for logo and letterhead design from Healthcare Advertising. corecubed’s MOST Program was a finalist in the International Stevie’s Marketing Campaign of the Year in 2009. In 2008 Orsini was named Digital Entrepreneur of the Year by Louisville Magazine,and under her leadership, corecubed was named one of Working Mother Magazine’s Best Women-Owned Companies in America.

She recently served as the Chief Strategic Officer for the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) for their private duty affiliate, the Private Duty Homecare Association of America (PDHCA), an affiliate she had chaired and served for several years on their advisory board. In 2008 she was elected to the Board of Directors of the National Association for Home Care & Hospice. Earlier in her career she was appointed a 1995 delegate to the White House Conference on Small Business, and in 1996 the National Association of Women Business Owners named her a Woman Business Owner of the Year for Kentucky. In 1990 she was Kentucky’s delegate to the prestigious National Leadership Institute on Aging. Orsini was also the first female president of the downtown Louisville Rotary Club in 1998-1999, one of the world’s largest clubs, where she is still a very active member.

Nationally, she is a sought after speaker, contributes articles in several national business and senior care publications, produces home care educational materials and actively works on planning conferences. Orsini holds a Masters degree from the University of Louisville.

Her strengths lie in her strategic thinking process, her creativity, insights into businesses, her in-depth knowledge of home care and the aging and chronic illnesses that affect seniors, and the ability to effectively target and reach consumers in a variety of industries. She lives in Louisville, Kentucky, with her husband who joins her in an avid hobby of collecting contemporary art glass. When not traveling, she enjoys gardening and is an expert in Kentucky spring woodland wildflowers.

Phil joined the HCAOA in January of 2014 as the new Executive Director. He serves as the chief staff executive for the HCAOA responsible for the association’s overall operations. In his 20 year career in association management, Phil has represented a number of associations with a concentration on health and disability issues. Phil most recently served as the Director of Government Relations for The Society of Thoracic Surgeons. In his spare time, Phil is a marathon runner and has completed the Marine Corps Marathon 13 times.

Sharon brings over 30 years’ experience in senior care services to her passion as the founder and CEO of IPCed.aron has an advanced degree in social work and leadership experience in multi-state Assisted Living corporations. She has been a developer, owner and operator of dementia care assisted living communities and has deep expertise as an educator for all levels of staff within the care profession. Sharon has also been involved in voluntary community organizations including facilitating support groups for families and serving on Area Agency on Aging advisory boards.
