Prepping for Pending Audits: Hospice Eligibility in 2023
The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Office of the Inspector General [OIG] recently announced a pending nationwide audit of hospice beneficiary eligibility.
The OIG audit issue date is fiscal year 2023 and will focus on hospice beneficiaries that haven’t had an inpatient hospital stay or emergency department visit in a certain time period, prior to their start of the hospice benefit.
