This course covers the impact of distressing symptoms and other crises on family caregivers. Relevant patient examples and clinical best practices in anticipating and managing distressing symptoms are reviewed. Information is provided to support clinical best practice in preparing patients and families for what is to come.

Apply elements of an Anticipatory Symptom Management Plan to patient scenarios.
Identify common urgent symptoms in hospice.
