Understanding Home Health Care: Coverage Criteria & Prudent Practice

Home health clinicians will have an improved understanding of the required Conditions of Participation as well as Medicare-based criteria standards. Clinicians will be able to identify homebound patients, define medically reasonable care, and adequately differentiate between covered and non-covered skilled home health services by the end of the course.

Describe Home Health Conditions of Participation and Medicare Coverage Criteria.
List the 2 criteria for Medicare homebound eligibility and effectively differentiate between homebound and not homebound patients.
Define medically reasonable care.
Explain the Patient Driven Groupings Model (PDGM) as it relates to home health care.
List 3 examples of covered skilled home health services and 3 examples of non-covered skilled home health services.
